Career exploration is an important undertaking, especially in grades 10-12. Many people share responsibility in career guidance and exploration; however, the most important person in the process is the student. It is the responsibility of each student to explore and learn about what careers and jobs are "out there". Students must take the initiative to research and gather the information they need to make an informed decision regarding their futures. When a student makes a career choice, he/she is responsible for his/her own applications, scholarships, etc. Another important group of people in this process are parents. It is important that parents stay involved and informed during the career guidance and exploration process.
There are two ladies that work as career resources in our school division. Students are encouraged to e-mail any questions that they have to either of these ladies. Their e-mail addresses are listed below.

The most important site for students and parents to check out and use is Career Cruising. This site has everything! When you click the link, you will be asked to enter a username and password. Our username is "leoville" ; password is "lcs". Students can also create their own portfolio (a place to save information of interest). Many students have already done this.
Our school division also has a career link of their website. Check it out by clicking the link below. Once you are there, click "students", "career development", "Living Sky School Division Career Guidance". There are links to post secondary schools and sites for scholarships.
